I love Platform University, and I want you to love it too. If you're not already a member, you are definitely missing out—but you probably don't know just how much.
I thought school was over when I graduated college.
After all, I'd learned a lot. What else did I need a teacher for?
Looking back at that thought, it seems incredibly naïve—there is so much that I still don't know.
I've been a member of Platform University for over a year now, and in that time I've learned more about growing a platform and running a business than I ever did in four years of college.
Each month, Michael Hyatt and his team release a slew of content designed to help you reach more people and create more impact.
In fact, there's a new piece of content nearly every single week.
So here’s a look at my three favorite Platform U courses (which you’ll find inside the site).
1. The Backstage Pass
He runs a self-made business with the help of an incredibly skilled remote team— and continuously grows his profit every year.
“You and I have a lot to learn. And Michael Hyatt has a lot to teach.”
In each month's backstage pass, Michael gives a behind-the-scenes look into how he runs his business. I can’t count the lessons I've learned from these videos, but here are a few that come to mind:
- How to set yourself up for a productive day,
- How to write better blog posts, in far less time, and
- The specific revenue streams Michael counts on (which inspired this post).
2. The Master Class
Being a bestselling author and successful entrepreneur has its perks, one of which is that you get to know some really incredible people.
Michael shares those relationships with every student by recording Master Class interviews each month.
Each interview is an in-depth conversation with an expert, which feels more natural and transparent than any other interview I've heard or seen before.
After watching each Master Class, I feel like the expert and I are now close friends.
Here are a few past interviews, for an example of the caliber and content to expect:
- Donald Miller on the power of communicating through story,
- Greg McKeown on achieving impact through simplicity, and
- Glennon Doyle Melton on how to earn your audience's unshakable trust.
3. The Community Forums
Honestly, this is my favorite aspect of Platform University—I saved the best for last.
People from every walk of life fill the discussion threads on Platform U. Some run massively successful businesses, and others are just getting started or working on a hobby.
The coolest unadvertised Platform-U-perk has got to be meeting fellow students in real life at a coffee shop, conference, or other events.
I've made a good number of friends (and picked up more than a few clients) by making time to regularly engage in the community forums.
There are threads going on around all kinds of different topics. A few current examples include:
- What tools and apps should I use to kick-start a new platform?
- How I Built a $2,960 a Month Membership Site in 90 Days, and
- I BLOG ABOUT PIE (I said “all kinds”, didn't I?).
There are only two enrollment periods a year when Platform University opens up—and one of those is going on right now.

Question: What could you learn from an active, learning environment like Platform University?
